Christina Rogers studied cultural studies, art history and science of religion at the University of Bremen, Free University of Berlin and Humboldt University of Berlin. Her PhD project concerned with migration and the EU border regime is situated within the research project “Principle of Disruption”.
Abstract:
Christina Rogers is concerned with developments of the EU border regime and their interrelation with processes of migration. By investigating different logics of control, the material-virtual, space-time and biopolitical implications of regulating migration in Europe are highlighted. Taking account of the progressive deployment of technology within the EU border regime, the thesis aims at aligning research from the fields of technoscience, migration theory and governmentality studies. Emphasis is given to the potentials of migration and mobility to disrupt orders of regulation that allow a further examination of mechanisms of control and respective migration policy.
